Sultry and Really Long Eyelashes

It all started with my friend Cindy’s obsession with having really long eyelashes.

She used to be joked all the time because of her short lashes. It was just the reality that she had to live with, since there really are persons with short lashes, and we can only make it appear full by using eyeliners. We were not good at using false eyelashes; they really looked fake because we were not the kind of girls who would typically have those things.

However, it was a different story with Cindy.

Way back, she has not stopped discovering ways to make her eyelashes long. Cindy heard that cutting your lashes will make it longer and true enough, snip away she did. She wore shades for many weeks after that. She tried tinting it, thinking that it will stimulate other lashes to grow and at the same time make it look darker. That also failed.

She then tried natural remedies in her attempt to make longer eyelashes.

She was not really into waiting for a long time to get results, but we encouraged her to go on. Somehow, it showed good results. Cindy used olive oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil and Vaseline nightly; she puts it on a ball of cotton and rubs a good amount on her lashes, making sure not to rub it inside her eyes. She then gently massages it on the upper eyelid and then to the lower eyelid, making sure that only a small dab of the oil is used. And to her happy surprise, her lashes started growing longer and fuller.

But it did not end there.

She thinks her lashes still have big possibilities to grow. So she made several researches to find ways on gaining longer eyelashes. Finally, she discovered a natural eyelash conditioner that guarantees lusher, fuller and longer eyelashes in as short as three weeks. The eyelash conditioner was said to have been discovered accidentally with the side effect of the treatment for glaucoma, a drug called lumigan.

Its ingredients, Latanoprost and Bimatoprost, caused the eyelashes to grow longer, thicker and darker. It was real good news for women. Since then, eyelash conditioners became a big hit in the cosmetic world. The good thing about it, as Cindy smilingly says, is that it works well.

We all thought Cindy was just crazy, passionately pursuing things like having really long eyelashes. But you know what? We are thankful she did. Now all of her girlfriends are gaining a lot from it, including me.

Tips And Tricks On Applying False Eyelashes

If you require a quick fix to achieve big bold eyelashes then false eyelashes are the answer

they are inexpensive and easy to apply. There are many different styles and colours to choose from. You can buy natural eyelashes, which are great for everyday wear, and these will come in many different colours to suit your style. You can also purchase volume lashes that are great for nights out and parties to give you that wow factor.

The first thing you want to do before applying your false lashes is to apply all your other makeup.

Apply a line of liquid eyeliner on your top lash not only will compliment your eyelashes it will hide any gap left between your natural lashes and the false ones.

Next remove your eyelashes from their packet making sure you still know which eyelashes is for which eye and place them on a clean surface. You then want to apply you glue onto the strip on the back of the eyelashes, some people like to add a little extra glue on to the ends of the lashes just to make sure they will stick. Once you have applied your glue wait around 30 seconds for your glue to become tacky.

Once you are happy with the consistency of the glue you can go ahead and stick your eyelashes on.

To get you eyelashes to stick and to get them as close to your natural eyelashes as possible its best you use tweezers. Apply the lashes and press them down with your tweezers, once you are happy with where they are pinch your false and natural eyelashes together to minimize the gap. You then want to repeat this process on the other eye. You can add mascara to your eyelashes once they have been applied this will make them look fuller and thicker. If you do use mascara on your eyelashes you need to be aware that you may not be able to wear them again.

When removing your false lashes take off all your makeup with baby wipes or makeup remover then take off your eyelashes.

Once you have removed your false eyelashes peel off any dried glue and place them into a sealed container or back into the packaging they came in. It’s always best to store them in a sealed container to keep any bacteria off them if you want to wear them again.

Best False Eyelashes

When it comes to beauty products

false eyelashes are one of the biggest staples in many women’s arsenal. They are great for accentuating your eyes and are great for glamorous occasions. Getting the right false eyelashes for the look you want is very important. When choosing beauty products, you always have to strike a balance between getting the right look that you want and practicality. Below are some tips on choosing false eyelashes as well as a guide on how to apply them.

What Choices Are There?

When buying false eyelashes you have two main options – individual lashes and full lashes. Each has its pros and cons. If you choose to get full eyelashes then they’re fairly easy to apply but the downside is they do not look as natural as individual lashes. With individual eyelashes you have a more natural look but it will take quite a bit longer to apply them. You really have to think about how much time you’re prepared to invest in your look. Many women will choose to get both individual and full eyelashes and use them for different occasions.

How to Apply False Eyelashes

Once you have decided on which type of eyelash you’re going to get, you can then apply them properly by following these steps:

Firstly you should cover your natural eyelash line on the bottom lid of your eye by spreading a thin line of eyeliner across it. It’s best to use your small finger to do this. Apply just enough so your own eyelashes don’t show through.

Next, if you’re using a full eyelash then you should apply a small amount of eyelash glue to your index finger and then spread it evenly across the entire base of the full eyelash, allow a few seconds for the glue to set and then you can apply it. If you’re using individual lashes then should dab the base of each lash in the glue on your finger and apply them.

When you’re applying individual eyelashes

you should start from the centre and move outwards to ensure proper placing. You should only use a few lashes to get a more natural look. The same principle applies to full eyelashes – start by gluing the base to the centre of your eyelid and then carefully move towards the corner of your eyes. Proper placement is essential to getting the right look with false eyelashes so be sure to take a lot of care when applying them.

Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash Extensions

We have had hair extensions for longer hair

contact lenses (even laser eye treatment) for better eyes, breast implants, liposuction, laser hair removal, ear stapling for weight loss even calf implants. We live in an age where if you feel that any aspect of your appearance is not perfect, there is a remedy readily available. The new fad now is eyelash extensions which started off in Asia but has not been slow in hitting the shores of Europe and the US.

Yes, eyelash extensions are the new craze and in New York

people are on waiting lists of up to two months to get an appointment. I once got a table at the Ivy in London (officially the most sought hard to get into restaurant in the UK) and only had to wait a week. Anyway, I digress. These extensions should not be confused with false eyelashes which have to be taken out and reapplied every day.

Eyelash extensions are attached to your own lashes individually using tweezers.

There is no need for mascara and the irony here is that eyelash extensions give you more of a natural look as they are attached to your natural eyelashes. You have the option of different lengths, thickness and even colors.

There is a risk however as each individual lash will only last for as long as the natural lash it is attached to lasts for.

The average life span of each eyelash is 2 months.

This is heavily dependent on your lifestyle and the strength of your eyelashes in the first place. As the cost of these extensions range from between $200 to $500, you would want to get your money’s worth. Be sure to use an expert as if these are applied incorrectly; well let’s just say you would save money on your Halloween outfit.

As with everything, there is a cheaper alternative.

Semi permanent eyelashes cost about $50 and can last anywhere between one to two weeks. They are easy to apply and give you the flexibility to take them out when you please.

Ever heard the saying, “eyes are the window to the soul”? Well beautiful eyes are create more of an impact than you can imagine.
